The Undercroft and Crypt houses a small museum showcasing the history of York Minster from its early Norman foundations to the 20th century engineering that supports the central tower. The Undercroft also contains the remains of York's Roman Legionary fortress, Viking gravestones and historic artefacts from the Minster's collection.
