Saddleworth

6 Nov 11   An early morning walk along the canal to Ashton, then jumped on a train to Greenfield.
Walked along a short stretch of the Huddersfield canal to Uppermill, then struck out to the hills.
Over Alderman Hill to Dovestones reservoir then up onto the Pennines proper at Ashway Moss.
Followed the edge round to Chew reservoir then continued along the edge of Wimberry Moss
to Alphin Pike before dropping back down to Greenfield for buses back to Ashton and home.
The first frost of the winter was a prelude to a beautiful day.
