The Winking Eye
The original for this was taken many years ago. To create the image,
it was first reduced to pure black & white ('lith'), then the background added.
An earlier version, produced with normal darkroom techniques, has appeared
on the front cover of "Climber & Rambler" magazine (March 1980).
Incidentally, the figure on the climb is me (when I was a good bit younger)
- a friend pressed the shutter on this occasion (thanks Andrea).
The title derives from the rock feature, at Ramshaw Rocks, Staffordshire.
Sadly, bits of it have now broken off and climbing on it is discouraged.
